Sapien x BitClave
Sapien x BitClave
Unifying user social and search data on the blockchain.
Google and Facebook take 73% of all ad dollars and 99% of all growth. Clearly, there is tremendous monetary value in a user’s online activity and interests. Unfortunately, users currently do not receive any portion of the ad revenues that large corporations make off selling their data. Blockchain technology promises fewer intermediaries and more transparency with the data that users share.
BitClave’s decentralized search engine is a platform that enables direct customer-to-business interactions with no need for intermediaries allowing users to control their data securely over the blockchain. With BitClave, customers get paid for their search request, businesses make money on personalized offers and all data is private and secured.
Why Partner?
Shared Values — Data Privacy & Transparency
BitClave and Sapien fundamentally believe that users should be in complete control of their data that is broadcasted over the internet. If users opt-in to distribute their information, they should receive a financial incentive for doing so. As a result of our underlying technology, a user will be able to access and modify exactly what information is being monetized.
Shared Data Ecosystem
Problem: Current companies track users no matter where they are on the web without their consent, encroaching on their privacy. Large media sites often have up to 70 trackers on their site.
Proposal: Users should have control over their data wherever they go. A user, that is both Sapien and BitClave user, will have the option to share his personal information across the platforms. Once the user opts in doing so, he will be more valuable to businesses on both platforms and businesses will be willing to pay higher rewards when advertising or extending offers to these users.
This partnership will allow Sapien to integrate BitClave’s search widget into Sapien’s social platform. BitClave’s users, that are also Sapien’s users, will be able to perform search directly from Sapien’s platform and get rewards for their searches.
A user will be able to share his search data with Sapien’s platform and receive a portion of the advertisement revenue he generates in SPN tokens.
A user will be able to share his social data to BitClave’s platform and be rewarded CAT tokens when they receive offers from businesses.
This model is the first example that demonstrates the concept of data ownership by the user. It the user who decides what to share and to whom and this concept works even across two different platforms.
Incentivized Focused Marketing
Problem: Businesses of the future will want to build brands, grow communities, and sell products and services. As of now, there is no infrastructure for advertisers to market and advertise to users in decentralized applications.
Proposal: In BitClave, an anonymized activity profile is built for every user, where user controls the access to the data in this profile. Businesses, both small and large, would like to use this data to customize their offers to the users. Many of these same businesses would want to advertise on traditional social platforms like Facebook and Twitter. If users opt-in, Sapien can collect data on their behalf and tokenize the data. The increased utility of the shared data ecosystem will enable users to receive greater rewards from ad-revenue sharing on Sapien.
Open-source Data Sharing API
The long-term goal will be to trail-blaze an open-source protocol for Web 3.0 businesses to pool their collected user data with a standardized API. This way, users will have complete and final control over their data and how it is shared.
